This land-side impermeable wall consists of frozen soil using a frozen construction method that can ensure excellent prevention of water seepage in order to block the flow of groundwater.
To be more specific, refrigerant (brine) cooled by the chiller and cooling tower is pressure-fed through the brine transfer pipes and circulated though the freezing pipes installed underground to freeze the surrounding soil.

Operation of one chiller started on March 31, 2016 to initiate freezing of the land-side impermeable wall.
