Unit 2

From January 26 to February 16, 2017, we inserted a camera through a guide pipe and used a remote-control self-propelled Scorpion robot to investigate the internal condition of the primary containment vessel. While moving along the control rod drive (CRD) exchange rail connected directly under the reactor, the robot took footage of the state of the surrounding structures and measured the radiation dose and temperature.

*This investigation was conducted as a verification test of technology for investigating inside the Unit 1 PCV for the "Development of a technology to investigate inside the Reactor Primary Containment Vessel (PCV)" of the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID).
