The work, which began on April 15, is the world’s first undertaking to remove fuel from a reactor with a melted core. The video shows actual work being performed as well as explains preparatory steps undertaken prior to starting the work and details of the fuel-removal process.
Going forward, TEPCO will continue to disseminate timely and appropriate information to keep stakeholders informed about the company’s ongoing efforts to decommission the power station smoothly over the long term.
